Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport (BOD)

The answer
Since 6 December 2025 tram line F stops at the foot of the terminals (by the Express car park, Hall B) and runs to Hôtel de Ville in 35 minutes and Gare Bordeaux-Saint-Jean in 45 on the ordinary city fare — €1.90 a ticket, trams every 10 minutes, 05:00 to midnight (1 AM Thu–Sat).
Bordeaux pulled off the rare thing in France: a real airport rail link with no airport surcharge — a 10-trip book costs €15.70 and line F connects with every other tram (A, B, C, D, E), so the whole Métropole is one change away.
Late arrival or tight train connection? The 30'Direct coach leaves Hall B door 7 and reaches Saint-Jean Hall 2 nonstop in 30 minutes, 365 days, guaranteed seats and free luggage — around €9–10 depending on where you buy.
Door to door? Taxis: the airport itself quotes about €35 day / €45 night to the centre, metered and traffic-dependent.

🚊 Every way out — real prices

Tram line F (city fare) BEST FOR MOST
€1.90 single / €15.70 book of 10
Board at 'Bordeaux Aéroport', the stop at the foot of the terminals beside the Express car park near Hall B. Line F runs via Mérignac's Hôtel de Ville and Pellegrin hospital into the centre and on to Gare Saint-Jean: 35 minutes to Hôtel de Ville, 45 to the station, trams every 10 minutes Monday–Saturday and every 15 Sunday, first departures 05:00, last around midnight (1 AM Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights). Ordinary TBM fares — €1.90 single, €15.70 for 10 trips — with connections to tram lines A, B, C, D and E. Buy at the terminal's Relay press shop, the machines at the stop, or the TBM app (Bluetooth validation).
30'Direct shuttle to Gare Saint-Jean
~€8–10 (online ~€9, driver ~€10)
Nonstop coach, Hall B door 7 → Gare Saint-Jean Hall 2 forecourt, about 30 minutes, every day of the year including holidays. Guaranteed seats, luggage hold free, on-board wifi, and it now runs on HVO biofuel. The Métropole tourism listing (updated 15 July 2026) puts online tickets at €9 full / €8 reduced and €10 from the driver; the airport's page confirms 10% off for return tickets bought in the online shop and free travel under-5s — the operator's own site doesn't print the numbers, so treat them as approximate and buy online.
Taxi (official rank)
~€35 day / ~€45 night
The rank is at the outdoor access of Hall A. The airport's own taxi page gives indicative centre fares of about €35 in the day and €45 at night, metered and varying with rocade traffic; companies (Taxis Télé 05 56 96 00 34, Taxis Girondins 05 56 80 70 37) take advance bookings. No prefectoral flat airport tariff is published — the number is an estimate, not a price.
VTC / ride-hailing apps
app-priced
Uber, Bolt and booked VTC transfers serve both halls; prices come from the app and shift with demand and the A630 ring-road state. Only licensed taxis take kerb-side hails — VTC cars must be booked before pickup.

⚠️ The traps (walk past these)

Hall A ↔ Hall B link closed since 16 September 2026

The airport's own flash-info: the indoor connection between the two halls is shut on BOTH the departures and arrivals levels while works run — you must go outside to walk between them. Land at Hall A with a 30'Direct or tram booked 'at the terminal' and the two-minute indoor hop is now a kerbside detour.

Do this: follow the airport's external walkway signage, allow five extra kerbside minutes, and note that tram + 30'Direct wait near Hall B
Tram F is a city tram, not an airport express

It stops at every station, fills with commuters and hospital traffic via Pellegrin, and needs 45 minutes to Saint-Jean where the coach claims 30. With a TGV booked at +90 minutes and one delayed tram, the €1.90 saving becomes a rebooked ticket.

Do this: take the tram for the city, and pay the extra ~€8 for 30'Direct when your train leaves on the clock
Trams stop at midnight — taxis take over

Line F runs 05:00 to ~00:00 (1 AM only Thursday to Saturday nights). A 22:00–23:30 Sunday or Monday arrival has no tram at all, and 30'Direct's evening service does not run all night either — leaving the rank or the app, at ~€45 night rates.

Do this: check the last-tram time for your landing night before you price the taxi against €1.90
Buying the €10 bus ticket from the driver

30'Direct charges about €10 on board versus ~€9 online (€8 reduced), and the driver won't take notes over €50 or American Express. Two passengers 'paying the driver tax' cost more than one online return ticket.

Do this: buy on 30direct.com before you fly — e-tickets show in the app or an email 24/7
