Bristol Airport (BRS)

Last verified: October 2026 · Confirmed by travelers this month: 0

The answer
A1 Airport Flyer from the forecourt runs 24 hours a day, up to every 8 minutes, to Bedminster, Bristol Temple Meads and the city bus station — £9.50 single, or £16 return that is valid for a whole month (so a round trip is really £8 a leg).
Bristol Airport has no station and no tram — the Flyer is the only frequent public route out, and its monthly return fare makes it the best value for anyone staying put.
Tight budget? Nothing public beats £9.50 to the city — First's £2.60 Bristol-zone single does NOT extend to the airport; even local fares on the Flyer route start at £3.30 only for short hops that don't include the airport stops.
In a hurry / late night? Zoom Cars, the airport's only official taxi partner (0117 955 5555), is 25–40 minutes door to door, quoted fares typically ≈£35–55.

🚌 Every way out — real prices

A1 Airport Flyer to the city BEST FOR MOST
£9.50
Express coach from the Transport Interchange outside the terminal: 24/7, up to every 8 minutes at peak, ~25 min to Bristol Temple Meads station and ~35 min to Bristol Bus Station (Marlborough Street). Adult single £9.50, return £16 VALID FOR ONE MONTH, child £6.50/£9.50, student £7.50, group return (5 people) £32. Pay the driver, use the First Bus mTickets app, or tap contactless on board.
Rail onward via Temple Meads (Flyer + train)
£9.50 + rail
There is no station at the airport, so the rail play is A1 → Temple Meads and change nothing else: the Flyer ticket even allows a 3-hour connection onto other First buses in the West of England zone when bought by app or contactless. A rail ticket machine sits on the Arrivals concourse itself, so you can buy the train leg before you board the bus.
Taxi — Zoom Cars (official partner)
≈£35–55 (quoted)
Zoom Cars is the ONLY taxi company with an official Bristol Airport partnership: office on the forecourt between the Transport Interchange and terminal, walk-up or call 0117 955 5555, bays on the top level of the Transport Interchange Pickup & Drop-off car park. Fares are quoted rather than flat — the ≈£35–55 city range is a guide estimate, not a published tariff; agree the price in the booking.
Uber / Bolt (rideshare zone)
app-priced
Both apps operate legally from a designated rideshare pickup zone a short walk from arrivals — NOT the terminal kerb (Uber's own Bristol page says follow the in-app pin). The airport is a hard case for last-minute cars after the final flight wave; late-night fares surge, so many locals pre-book Zoom or a hire firm instead.
A2/A3/A4 Flyers (west & Bath)
£5.00 / £9.50
Same kerb, different compass: A2 Portishead and A3 Weston-super-Mare run from £5 single (A3 up to every 30 min at peak), A4 Bath is £9.50/£16 like Bristol, hourly. Return tickets again hold a month's validity — useful if your real base is the Somerset coast or Bath rather than Bristol.

⚠️ The traps (walk past these)

The £16 return is a month long — buy it on day one

Every Airport Flyer return (Bristol, Bath: £16 adult; A2/A3: £7) is valid for ONE MONTH, per the airport's own fare notes. Visitors buy two £9.50 singles on landing and departure day and pay £19 for the same trips the return covers — the open-ended validity means it doesn't matter when you come back.

Do this: buy the return at the start of the trip, not a single in each direction
£2.60 First city fares do NOT reach the airport

First's capped singles in the Bristol zone (£2.60 since January 2026) stop short of the terminal; the Flyer is priced separately and its airport fares apply to any trip touching the Airport Tavern / Fox & Goose stops, while local fares only exist between Hobbs Lane and the inner stops. England's £3 national cap also excludes airport services outright.

Do this: expect £9.50 on the A1 — don't step aboard with a city zone day ticket hoping it covers the airport
Your app car waits in a zone, not at the doors

Uber/Bolt collect from a designated rideshare pickup point (the app draws the walking route); Zoom's booked cars wait on the TOP LEVEL of the Transport Interchange Pick-up & Drop-off. Reddit travellers routinely end up at the wrong level or in Drop&Go while the driver circles — and the official rank is a separate ground-floor spot for walk-ups only.

Do this: open the app and walk to the exact pin before the driver cancels on their timer
English bus passes are void on airport trips

The airport's fare terms state plainly: the English national concessionary bus pass is NOT accepted for travel to or from Bristol Airport — it only works for non-airport local segments. A pass holder boarding at the airport expecting a free ride will be charged the full £9.50 on the spot (Scottish/Welsh terms differ; BS40/48/49 and BS41 8 locals need a special scheme card).

Do this: budget the full Flyer fare even if you hold a concessionary pass
