The answer
Take Intercity Bus line 22 from outside arrivals — €1.40 to Arrecife in about 10–15 minutes, but only Monday to Friday. At weekends and on public holidays the airport link is line 23, via Playa Honda.
The airport is barely 5 km from Arrecife, the bus costs about a tenth of a taxi, and the only complication is that the right line depends on the day of the week.
Heading south to the resorts? Line 161 runs to Puerto del Carmen for €1.40 and Playa Blanca for €3.30.
Two of you, or a late landing? A metered taxi to Arrecife is roughly €14–16 and to Puerto del Carmen about €19, and the rank runs 24 hours.

🚌 Every way out — real prices

Intercity Bus line 22 / 23 (Arrecife) BEST FOR MOST
€1.40
Line 22 runs the airport–Arrecife route in about 10 minutes, Monday to Friday only, from 05:45 to 23:15 (roughly every 40–50 minutes). At weekends and on public holidays line 23 takes over via Playa Honda, roughly hourly. Both stop on Floor 0 (Arrivals) outside Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Pay the driver.
Intercity Bus line 161 (Puerto del Carmen / Playa Blanca)
€1.40–3.30
The main daytime southbound service: airport → Puerto del Carmen → Puerto Calero → Yaiza → Playa Blanca. €1.40 to Puerto del Carmen and €3.30 to Playa Blanca, about 20 minutes and an hour respectively. This is the line that reaches the southern resorts the Arrecife buses do not.
Intercity Bus line 61 / 162 (later south runs)
€1.40–3.30
Line 61 is a selected later journey from the airport through Puerto del Carmen and Uga to Playa Blanca. Line 162 covers the last runs of the day, stopping at T1 at 23:16 and 00:16 and at T2 a minute later. Same fares as the 161.
Taxi (official rank) — short runs
€14–26
Metered from the rank outside arrivals at both terminals, 24 hours. Tariff 1 (weekdays 06:00–22:00): €3.85 minimum, €1.35/km, plus a €2.10 airport supplement. Tariff 2 (nights, Sundays and holidays): €4.25 minimum, €1.55/km. That works out at roughly €14–16 to Arrecife, €19–20 to Puerto del Carmen and €25–26 to Costa Teguise.
Taxi — Playa Blanca and the north
€45–56
Long runs are metered too, and there is no flat rate. Playa Blanca at about 35 km works out around €53 on Tariff 1; Órzola is around €56 and Arrieta €42. For two or more people a pre-booked transfer is usually cheaper on these distances, because the price is fixed before you travel.

⚠️ The traps (walk past these)

The line you need depends on the day of the week

Line 22 serves the airport to Arrecife Monday to Friday only; at weekends and on public holidays it does not run at all and line 23 covers the route via Playa Honda. They are not two frequent parallel services — picking the wrong one means waiting for a bus that is not coming.

Do this: check whether your arrival day is a weekday, a weekend or a holiday before choosing line 22 or line 23
There is no night bus

The airport's bus departures finish around 22:30 to 23:30 depending on the line, and outside line 162's 23:16 and 00:16 stops there is nothing after that. An arrival after about 23:00 has the taxi rank and nothing else.

Do this: for a landing after 23:00, take a taxi from the rank or pre-book a transfer
The stop is outside both terminals, not one

Lanzarote has Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, and the buses stop on Floor 0 (Arrivals) outside each of them. Waiting at the wrong terminal's kerb means watching your bus leave from the other one, and the two are not a short walk apart with luggage.

Do this: check which terminal your flight uses and wait at that terminal's arrivals stop
Card payment on the bus is not guaranteed

Intercity Bus tickets are bought from the driver, and card acceptance on board is not reliable on this network. Drivers also prefer small notes and coins, and there is no machine at the airport stop to fall back on.

Do this: carry small euro notes and coins for the bus, or buy a rechargeable Bono card in Arrecife
The airport taxi is metered, not a flat rate

Lanzarote taxis run on a meter with a €3.85 minimum by day (€4.25 at night and on holidays), €1.35 or €1.55 a kilometre, a €2.10 airport supplement and a €0.60 radio-taxi charge. A driver who quotes one price for Playa Blanca before you get in is not using the tariff on the sticker.

Do this: take a taxi only from the signed rank and check the meter is running on the day or night tariff
