Naples International Airport (Capodichino) (NAP)

Last verified: October 2026 · Confirmed by travelers this month: 0

The answer
Take the Alibus — €5, 15 minutes to Piazza Garibaldi at Napoli Centrale, about 35 minutes on to Molo Beverello, every 15 minutes from 05:30 until midnight.
Capodichino is 5 km from the centre and still has no rail link, so the €5 shuttle is both the cheapest way in and, in Naples traffic, one of the fastest.
Two or more with bags? A licensed taxi is a fixed €21 to Napoli Centrale or the historic centre and €24 to the port — per car, day or night, luggage included.
Travelling solo to the ferries? The collective taxi at €6 a head runs airport → Centrale → Molo Beverello and gives you a receipt.

🚌 Every way out — real prices

Alibus (ANM airport shuttle) BEST FOR MOST
€5
15 minutes to Piazza Garibaldi and Napoli Centrale, then about 35 minutes on to Immacolatella/Porta di Massa inside the port and Molo Beverello. Every 15 minutes (ANM's published maximum gap), first departure from the airport 05:30 and last 00:00. Buy at the machines at the arrivals exit, on the ANM GO app, from retailers, or on board. The €5 ticket is also valid 90 minutes on the rest of the urban network.
Taxi (predetermined fixed fare)
€21–28.50
Ask for the tariffa predeterminata before the doors close — by law the driver cannot refuse it. €21 to Centro Direzionale, Napoli Centrale/Piazza Garibaldi or the ZTL historic centre; €24 to the port (Molo Beverello/Piazza Municipio), Teatro San Carlo and the MANN museum; €28.50 to Via Partenope and the San Ferdinando hotels. The price is per car and already includes the airport, night, holiday, luggage and radio-call supplements.
Collective taxi
€6
Airport → Napoli Centrale → Stazione Marittima/Molo Beverello, €6 per passenger with luggage included, receipt issued before departure. Cars wait in the 'Pick-up' area about 100 m from arrivals and display a Comune di Napoli board with the route and the per-person fare; the car leaves 15 minutes after the first three passengers arrive.
Pre-booked transfer
€35–55
A driver meets you in arrivals with the price fixed when you book — useful for a late landing, a lot of luggage, or an onward run. Compare any quote against the published fixed fares first: Pompei scavi €70, Caserta's Reggia €85, Sorrento €125, Positano €145, Amalfi €155, all per car.
Uber and app taxis
€21–28.50
Uber in Naples works mainly as a way to call a licensed taxi, and the fixed airport fares still apply. The local fleets are larger on GOXGO (Taxi Napoli 8888) and the nationwide itTaxi app. Useful for a card payment and a record of the trip, but there is no surge-priced private fleet at Capodichino the way there is in Milan.

⚠️ The traps (walk past these)

There is still no metro station at Capodichino

Line 1 was extended to Centro Direzionale in April 2025 and the line ends there: the Capodichino airport station is under construction and expected to open between late 2026 and early 2027. Plenty of guides already sell a 'metro to the airport' that does not exist.

Do this: plan on the Alibus or a taxi and treat any metro-to-the-airport claim as out of date
The meter is the trap, not the fare

Naples runs predetermined fares that already include every supplement, day or night: €21 to Napoli Centrale or the historic centre, €24 to the port. A driver who puts the meter on for a fixed-fare destination, or adds a night, holiday or luggage supplement on top, is overcharging.

Do this: say 'tariffa predeterminata' before you get in and ask for the ricevuta receipt at the end
Drivers who approach you inside the terminal

The airport's own guidance is that vehicles waiting outside the marked area may be driven by someone without a regular licence and can charge more than the Comune di Napoli tariff. The official rank is directly in front of arrivals; the collective taxis wait in the 'Pick-up' area about 100 m away.

Do this: take a white taxi with the Comune di Napoli shield from the official rank, or the collective taxi with its board on the windscreen
The Alibus is not covered by an Artecard or a city ticket

Alibus is a premium line: the €5 ticket is its own product, and the Napoli Artecard (€27 for three days) explicitly excludes it. An ordinary €1.50 ANM metro ticket or an UnicoCampania urban ticket will not get you on the airport bus.

Do this: buy the €5 Alibus ticket separately even if you already hold an Artecard or a Naples city pass
The last Alibus is at midnight

The last bus leaves the airport at 00:00 and the first is at 05:30. Between those hours a taxi is the only way in — and the €21 fixed fare to Napoli Centrale still applies at 3am, so there is no reason to pay more.

Do this: for a landing after midnight go straight to the rank and quote the predetermined fare
