The standard Flybus fare covers Keflavík Airport to BSÍ Bus Terminal and nothing more. BSÍ is at Vatnsmýrarvegur 10, about 1 km and a 15-minute walk from the city centre, and hotel drop-off is a separate Flybus+ ticket at 5,299 ISK. Anyone who assumes the coach delivers to the door pays again for a city bus from BSÍ, or walks with their luggage.
Strætó route 55 is less than two-thirds of the Flybus fare, but the airport's own guide says it does not align with flight schedules and operates from 07:30 to around 23:00, so it suits daytime flights only. It also takes about 1 hour 20 minutes against Flybus's 45, and some departures terminate at Fjörður in Hafnarfjörður rather than BSÍ — the 1,800 ISK fare level — 10 km short of the city.
Since 1 October 2026 route 55 stops at the terminal itself: arriving passengers use a marked stand on the arrivals side reached by a covered walkway, and departing passengers use the KEF Departures stop. The airport's own transport page still tells you to walk to Kjóavellir, about 150 metres from the terminal, and so does every guide written before the change.
Hreyfill's fixed airport transfer is 22,500 ISK for 1–4 passengers and 29,250 ISK for 5–8, and its own price list says the fixed price applies to trips bought on the website, not to account customers. A taxi taken from the rank outside arrivals runs the meter instead — roughly 20,000 ISK by day but about 24,400 ISK at night or weekends over the same 50 km — and either way a 490 ISK airport fee is added for trips starting at Keflavík.
Uber and Lyft do not operate here — Hopp is the app, and it charges the same metered taxi price. Keflavík Airport's taxi page is explicit that passengers may choose their taxi, that drivers may not refuse a ride, and that fixed prices shall be based on the price list; anything quoted above the meter is not a tariff.
