The municipality's own taxi table carries an extra-charge list underneath it: €4.00 for a pickup from the airport, €0.40 per piece of luggage over 10 kg, €1.80 counter start, and a tariff that doubles between 00:00 and 05:00. A late arrival with two large cases is therefore not a €27 ride. Bridge and motorway tolls do not apply here, but the airport charge and the night multiplier do.
Most guides, and most transfer sites, call the Rhodes airport bus a KTEL service. It is not: it is run by DES RODA, the municipal network, and KTEL's own published stop map contains no airport stop at all. The two operators share the terminal on Averof Street in town but run different sides of the island, so a KTEL ticket bought in advance will not get you off the airport kerb.
It terminates in Rhodes Town. Lindos, Pefki, Kolympia, Kalithea and Faliraki are east-coast destinations served from the town terminal by KTEL - so the airport-to-resort trip is two legs on two different operators, and both have to still be running when you land. The one exception is KTEL's seasonal line 25 to Faliraki.
Uber and Bolt do not operate on the island, and the ride-hailing habit that works in Athens falls flat here. The only app-based option is a pre-booked fixed-price transfer, which has to be arranged before you fly - there is nothing to summon from the kerb at 1am.
On the sheet valid from 17 August 2026 the final weekday departure from the airport to Rhodes Town is 00:45, and the first is 06:50 - there is no night service. A flight that lands after the last bus leaves you with the taxi rank or a pre-booked transfer, and both cost many times the €2.50 fare.
