Tirana International Airport Nënë Tereza (TIA)

The answer
Take the Luna airport bus — 400 ALL (€4), every full hour, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 30–40 minutes between Rinas airport and the stop behind the Opera and Ballet theatre in central Tirana.
It is the official public line on the airport's own page, it never closes, and €4 is roughly an eighth of a taxi for the same 18 km.
Coming from a north/south long-distance bus? The Luna shuttle between the new South and North Bus Terminals and the airport costs 300 ALL (€3), hourly 07:00–18:00.
Door to door? The official branded airport taxi (Auto Holiday Albania) is quoted by the airport at about 2,200 ALL (≈€20–22), 20–25 minutes.

🚌 Every way out — real prices

Luna airport bus (Tirana centre) BEST FOR MOST
400 ALL / €4
The regular public service between Tirana and Rinas Airport run by LU-NA ShPK, listed on the airport's own transport page: 24/7, departures every full hour in both directions, journey 30–40 minutes. Airport side boards at the terminal/P1 area; in town the bus stops behind the Palace of Opera and Ballet (the airport page links a pin). Fares and timetable on luna.al/aeroport.
Luna shuttle to the new bus terminals
300 ALL / €3
A second dedicated line links the airport with Tirana's South and North Bus Terminals — daily 07:00–18:00, every full hour, 20–30 minutes — so long-distance buses to the coast or Montenegro connect without crossing the city. Fare 300 ALL (€3).
Official airport taxi (AHA)
≈2,200 ALL (€20–22)
The airport recommends only licensed yellow taxis branded 'TAXI Tirana Airport' with the Auto Holiday Albania logo, parked in front of the terminal and at the pick-up area, 24/7. The airport's own page puts the ride to Tirana's centre at about 2,200 Lekë, 20–25 minutes. Fixed-price bookings (from €26 to the centre, with flight monitoring) go through tiataxi.al, the operator the airport links.
Intercity shuttles from the airport
€6–12 (range)
The airport page lists direct city shuttles leaving from TIA: Durrës 600 ALL (≈€6), Fier 1,000 ALL (1,000 ALL also covers a same-day return), Shkodër 1,000 ALL, Vlorë 1,200 ALL (≈€12) — each with a printed list of fixed daily departures rather than flight timing.
GoOpti shared door-to-door van
from €14
The airport's shuttle page promotes GoOpti for cross-border rides: Tirana Airport to Pristina, Podgorica or Skopje from €14, door-to-door or meeting point, vehicles parked at marked spots beside the terminal. Book online; early booking is cheaper.

⚠️ The traps (walk past these)

The bus leaves on the hour, not when your flight does

Luna's service is a clock timetable — every full hour, 24/7 — not a flight-following shuttle. Landing at 23:05 means waiting until 00:00; missing a departure can cost up to an hour with luggage. Buy and board with the clock, not the arrivals screen.

Do this: check the current Luna timetable at luna.al/aeroport and allow a full hour of slack after taxiing
In town the stop is behind the Opera building, not on the boulevard

The Tirana end of the line is behind the Palace of Opera and Ballet — easy to miss if you walk the main boulevard. The airport page carries the exact map pin; riders heading to a hotel on the east side of Skanderbeg Square are minutes away, but the stop is not a formal station.

Do this: save the pin from the airport's By Bus page before landing
Only the yellow AHA-branded cars are the airport taxi

Tirana Airport explicitly recommends licensed taxis that are yellow with the Auto Holiday Albania and airport logos, parked at the terminal and its pick-up area. Offers made inside arrivals are off-rank; the airport's own reference price for the centre is about 2,200 ALL, so a 40-euro hand-wave is not the 'official' taxi.

Do this: take a branded yellow cab from the rank, or pre-book at tiataxi.al for a fixed price
The terminal is under heavy renovation into 2026

Kastrati Group has been expanding TIA at record pace — terminal extension, a new façade, underground parking, gates going from 14 toward 20 through 2026, plus 3D security scanners promised in the 2026–2028 programme. Wayfinding, shop rows and pick-up points have moved more than once, and photos in older guides no longer match the building.

Do this: follow live airport signage rather than a blog screenshot when looking for the bus or taxi rank
