Vilnius Airport (VNO)

The answer
Take the LTG Link airport train — €0.90, up to 8 minutes from a platform that is a 2-minute walk from arrivals, straight into Vilnius railway station (Geležinkelio g. 16) at the edge of the Old Town.
It is the cheapest and fastest link in any Baltic airport — the airport has its own railway stop and seats do not need reserving.
Tight budget? City bus 88 to the centre costs €1.25 for a 60-minute ticket — tap your contactless bank card on the validator, there are no tickets from the driver.
Landing late? The 88N night bus runs 22:30–05:30 at the same price, or use Bolt's reserved pick-up zone with 10 bays beside the intercity bus stops.

🚆 Every way out — real prices

LTG Link airport train BEST FOR MOST
€0.90
The railway stop is a 2-minute walk from the arrivals terminal (stairs or lift). Journey to Vilnius railway station: up to 8 minutes. Trains within the window 07:10–19:20 daily from the airport (08:00–18:30 towards it on weekdays). €0.90 any way, seats unreserved; buy at ltglink.lt, the LTG Link app, Perlas terminals, the outdoor machine on the platform, or on the train.
City buses 88 / 3G / 1 / 2
€1.25
Bus 88 runs Airport–Centras–Europos aikštė (Old Town edge), 3G is the express line into the centre, buses 1 and 2 go to the railway station. Tap a contactless bank card on the validator on board and a €1.25 60-minute ticket is issued automatically; 30-minute tickets are €1.00 in the JUDU/Trafi/m.Ticket apps. Drivers no longer sell tickets.
88N night bus
€1.25
Runs every night 22:30–05:30 on the route Airport–Stotis–Centras–Europos aikštė at the ordinary daytime ticket price. Covers late Ryanair and Wizz Air arrivals.
Airport Express coach (TOKS)
€3.00
Daily service between Vilnius Airport and Vilnius bus station; tickets from the driver, station counters or autobusubilietai.lt. Useful if your onward coach leaves from the bus station, which sits 180 m from the railway station.
Taxi (official rank)
metered
The airport's recommended taxis queue outside arrivals; official cars carry stickers inside showing the approved tariffs and take cash or card. No fixed airport fare is published — the airport runs an overcharge-complaint scheme, so keep the driver's receipt.
Bolt
app quote
Vilnius Airport has a designated Bolt pick-up area with 10 reserved parking spaces next to the intercity bus stops — the airport's own pick-up guidance beats haggling at the kerb.

⚠️ The traps (walk past these)

The airport train day ends around 19:20

The airport's own timetable lists airport-to-city departures only inside a 07:10–19:20 window (and inbound trains 08:00–18:30 on weekdays). Budget-airline arrivals after dinner find the platform empty — there is no night train.

Do this: land after about 18:30, go straight to bus 88 or the 88N night bus instead of the railway stop
The bus driver sells no tickets

Ticket sales via drivers were discontinued on 1 September 2024. The valid on-board method is tapping a contactless bank card on the validator, which buys the €1.25 60-minute ticket; apps (JUDU/Trafi/m.Ticket) or a €1.50 JUDU card loaded with e-tickets work too. Ride without an activated ticket and inspectors fine you.

Do this: tap the same bank card on the validator the moment you step on board
Flat-price offers inside the terminal

The airport warns that only official Vilnius Airport taxis — identifiable by in-car stickers showing the approved tariffs — are the contracted rank; it solicits receipts specifically to investigate overcharging. Men quoting flat prices by the exit are not the rank cars.

Do this: queue at the official taxi line or use the marked Bolt zone, and check the tariff sticker before loading bags
Check-in has moved to the new departure terminal

Under the airport's current notice, the new departure terminal is open and check-in and security screening now happen only there. Old guides and muscle memory pointing at the historic arrivals building will waste your morning.

Do this: head for the new departure terminal when you are leaving Vilnius, not the old building
