The answer
Take the Vy flygbussarna airport coach from bus stop 1 outside the terminal, calling at Korsvägen and finishing at Göteborg C (Nils Ericson Terminalen) — 129 kr adult single, 198 kr return, children 0–7 free. It runs up to every 20 minutes, and the operator's own route page says to allow about 40 minutes.
Landvetter has no railway station and no tram, so every public route into the city is a bus — and the coach is the only one that reaches the centre without a change.
On a tight budget? Västtrafik bus 612 does serve the terminal on a 76 kr two-zone ticket, and FlixBus sells Landvetter–Göteborg from 59 kr, but neither is a turn-up-and-go city service.
Flying out very early? The 03:00 and 03:55 coach departures towards the airport leave from Åkareplatsen, not from Nils Ericson Terminal.
⚠️ The traps (walk past these)
There is still no train to Landvetter — and none before the 2030s
Landvetter has no railway station, and the nearest line, the single-track Kust-till-kustbanan, does not pass the airport. Trafikverket's new Göteborg–Borås double-track will include an underground station at the airport, but the government only approved the corridor on 11 June 2026, construction is planned for 2029–2031 and the build time is about 10 years. Guides that mention a rail link are describing something that does not exist yet.
Do this: plan on the coach or a taxi and ignore any 'train to the airport' advice
The 03:00 and 03:55 coaches towards the airport leave from the wrong address
Vy flygbussarna's night departures on the Göteborg C – Landvetter route (03:00 and 03:55) do not start at Nils Ericson Terminal: they leave from Åkareplatsen. Wait at gate 29 and you will watch the bus leave without you.
Do this: walk to Åkareplatsen for the 03:00 and 03:55 departures towards the airport
Swedish taxi fares are deregulated — the 725 kr ceiling only binds contracted cars
Free price setting applies, and only Swedavia-contracted taxis must respect the marked-zone maximum of 725 kr (1–4 people) or 1,045 kr (5–8). A driver offering you a ride inside the arrivals hall has no airport contract — only pre-booked cars may enter the hall. Every taxi must display a comparative price for a 10 km/15-minute journey in large black digits on yellow.
Do this: walk out to the rank, ask the price, and check the yellow comparison sticker before you get in
Buying the coach at the airport costs up to 20% more
Vy flygbussarna's own price page says you save 10–20% by buying on the website or in the app rather than at the airport, and the 99 kr summer single ended on 31 August 2026. The ordinary adult fare is now 129 kr one way and 198 kr return.
Do this: buy the ticket in the app before you fly, not at the airport
A 38 kr Västtrafik ticket does not get you to Landvetter
The airport sits in Härryda, which Västtrafik puts in zone B, while Göteborg is zone A. The 38 kr single buys one zone, so an airport journey needs the 76 kr AB ticket (58 kr youth) — and the 125 kr 24-hour ticket is zone A only, 250 kr for AB. Bus 612 is the only Västtrafik line that stops at the terminal.
Do this: buy the two-zone AB ticket, not the single-zone fare, when you use bus 612
